Hello my friends honeybees! Today I’m intruducing in my blog the magical world created by J. K. Rowling. I’m a huge fantasy lover and a great Potterhead, so I think that this is the perfect start. I saw this tag on one of my favourite blogs, here’s the link
https://howlinglibraries.com/2017/10/12/ultimate-harry-potter-tag/ ♥ But let’s begin with the questions!
1. FAVOURITE BOOK?
This is easy for me, I have to say The Prisoner of Azkaban. I love the “darker” atmosphere, the introduction of Sirius Black and Crookshanks ♥
2. LEAST FAVOURITE BOOK?
It’s not that I don’t like it, I mean, each book of the series as a special place in my heart but I have to choose The Order of the Pheonix. Harry is so annoying and I get he’s not only a teenager, but he’s got also an heavy burden; but I can’t help it, I can’t stand him!
3. FAVOURITE MOVIE?
The Philosopher Stone ♥ It’s such a magical movie, in my opinion it represents perfectly the Harry Potter spirit!
4. LEAST FAVOURITE MOVIE?
The Half-Blood Prince! I don’t like it at all; Hermione’s not herself, they cut off too much important scenes and, overall, I always feel that something’s off.
5 . FAVOURITE QUOTE?
We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.Sirius Black
6. FAVOURITE WEASLEY?
This question is really sad, because my favourite members of the Weasley family are Fred and George; the death of the former was heartbreaking…
7. FAVOURITE FEMALE CHARACTER?
That’s another easy one…HERMIONE! With her, female fictional role models started to change; she’s far from perfect, but she’s celebrated for her cleverness, her boldness and kind heart. She doesn’t need help to fight her own battles, no matter what; at the same time she’s willing to do anything to help her friends and be there for them, she’s a great team mate. She’s great, yes.
8. FAVOURITE VILLAIN?
The best villain in the Harry Potter series is Dolores Umbridge in my opinion; she’s so brilliantly written, you can’t love her, she’s so vicious and rotten to the marrow. And the worst part is that she hides her evil behind a sly smile and a appearence beyond suspicious.
9. FAVOURITE MALE CHARACTER?
There are so many fascinating characters created by J.K. Rowling, these questions are more though that they seem, haha. Anyway, I have to answer Sirius Black; I really like his reckless and charming personality (I’m not ashamed to say that I would swoon over him if he existed), but also his fatherly protectiveness toward Harry. He would have been a perfect dad and an even greater reference point!
10. FAVOURITE PROFESSOR?
For this one, I have to go with professor Lupin; I think he would be the ideal teacher; the one genuinely interested in his students; the one who would be easy to turn to in case of need; the one who’s both severe and funny and, above all, impartial (as much as possible of course).
11. WASH SNAPE’S HAIR, OR SPEND A DAY LISTENING TO LOCKHART RANT ABOUT HIMSELF?
Even my patience would be tested by Lockhart, so I definitely would wash Snape’s hair!
12. DUEL AN ELATED BELLATRIX, OR AN ANGRY MOLLY?
Although Bellatrix is a crazy bitch and she can’t be trusted, I’d prefer to fight against her. Beware the good and kind people when they get angry; it means they’re really motivated.
13. TRAVEL TO HOGWARTS VIA HOGWARTS EXPRESS OR FLYING CAR?
I would never miss the opportunity to take the Hogwarts Express!
14. KISS VOLDEMORT, OR GIVE UMBRIDGE A BUBBLE BATH?
Both disgusting perspectives…but I’d choose to kiss Voldemort, definitely a faster task.
15. RIDE A HIPPOGRIFF, OR RIDE A FIREBOLT?
I’d ride a Firebolt, like a true “traditional” witch!
16. IS THERE A CHARACTER YOU FELT DIFFERENTLY ABOUT IN THE MOVIES VERSUS THE BOOKS?
Maybe Ginny; I don’t like her at all in the movies and she’s not even explored that much, honestly; I used to think about her as a true badass, while in the films she’s not so much room to develop and it feels like she remains the same little girl infatuated with Harry all time.
17. IS THERE A MOVIE YOU PREFERRED OVER ITS BOOK?
To be honest, no there isn’t; I mean, I’m really fond of the movie adaptations, but the books have all another level of complexity; naturally there’s more space to develop the story and add details. So yes, I tend to consider the both of them as unique separate experiences; however the original material is pretty much insuperable.
18. RICHARD HARRIS OR MICHAEL GAMBON AS DUMBLEDORE?
In my opinion, they both represent different aspects of the Dumbledore’s complex personality; while Harris version is etheral, untouchable, surrounded by a holy aura, Gambon illustrates a more fallible character, one that maybe shouldn’t be considered a hero that easily. I slightly prefer more the former, because it’s better written in my opinion, I don’t really appreciate Gambon version’s bursts of emotions, I find them out of character.
19. YOUR TOP THING (PERSON OR EVENT) WHICH WASN’T INCLUDED IN THE MOVIE THAT ANNOYED YOU THE MOST?
I was annoyed that they cut the scene when the Golden Trio discovers about Neville’s parents in the Goblet of Fire; that one was crucial for the character representation and it was definitely one of my favourites. But then, they decided to eliminate lots of important information, especially in the last three/four movies and that was pesky too.
20. IF YOU COULD REMAKE ANY OF THE POTTER MOVIES, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
The Half-Blood Prince, for sure.
21. WHICH HOUSE WAS YOUR FIRST GUT FEELING YOU’D BE A PART OF?
SLYTHERIN! I thought that that was the coolest house, not matter how much it was despised. I’ve always found amazing the main Slytherin traits: determination, cunning, strength, resourcefulness, leadership and more.
22. WHICH HOUSE WERE YOU ACTUALLY SORTED INTO ON POTTERMORE?
Again, I’m a proud Slytherin ♥
23. WHICH CLASS WOULD BE YOUR FAVOURITE?
POTIONS ♥ I’d love to create those magical concoctions, to prepare weird ingredients, to follow precisely a “recipe” and achieve to most surprising results.
24. WHICH SPELL DO YOU THINK WOULD BE THE MOST USEFUL TO LEARN?
Need to ask? Accio, of course.
25. WHICH CHARACTER DO YOU THINK YOU’D INSTANTLY BECOME BEST FRIENDS WITH?
I think I’d become best friends with Luna Lovegood immediately; she’s one of a kind and she would never judge me. She’d say to me weird notions and we would laugh together while daydreaming.
26. IF YOU COULD OWN ONE OF THE THREE HALLOWS, WHICH WOULD IT BE?
The Cloak of Invisibility, the most useful definitely.
27. IS THERE ANY ASPECT OF THE BOOKS YOU’D WANT TO CHANGE?
I’d change how the Slytherin house is represented; it’s clear that the same author hates it but it’s not fair that Slytherin children don’t have any positive models to look at. Each Slytherin character has more negative traits, all the bad guys comes from this house (Sounds realistic to you?)…I could continue. But what about that are our choices that matter and that there’s no one completely evil? And then I’d eliminate all the forced love stories that are completely unnecessary in my opinion.
28. FAVOURITE MARAUDER?
Padfoot a.k.a. Sirius Black! ♥
29. IF YOU COULD BRING ONE CHARACTER BACK TO LIFE, WHICH WOULD BE?
At this point it won’t be a surprise to you…I have to choose Sirius Black; I don’t think his death was really necessary; another I’d love to come back to life is Fred. That one was cruel!
30. HALLOWS OR HORCRUXES?
Well, I really wouldn’t like to have my soul cut into pieces, so naturally I pick the hallows.
This tag’s been so much fun to write! Feel free to answer and let me know if you do it, I’m so curious to read your thoughts.
Until the next adventure!
Lots of love,
